Sales Tax on Services by PRA, SRB, KPRA, BRA Registration

Sales tax in Pakistan is managed by PRA, SRB, KPRA, BRA in the four provinces; whereas, the Federal Capital of Islamabad is under FBR. The Government of Pakistan has taken several measures to amend the tax system in order to get better tax revenue. Through some amendments in the constitutions the provincial government is empowered to charge and collect taxes prescribed by a provincial tax code, with the exception of those reserved for the federal government.

Online PRA NTN Registration

In order to pay sales tax with Punjab Revenue Authority (PRA), you first need to register with PRA. 

1) Navigate to the PRA registration portal and, if you already have an NTN, select “e-registration.” After that, select “new e-registration with NTN.”

2) You will now be asked to input your NTN (if you are registering as a new AOP firm) or CNIC (if you are enrolling as a new individual).

3) Enter the necessary information and click OK.

4) After entering your information, you will be directed to a form that contains all of your information recorded with the FBR.

5) If your registered NTN number is not recognized, you should double-check your entry.

Manual PRA Registration

Send an email to esupport@pra.punjab.gov.pk to have your NTN added manually into PRA’s database. The email should be formatted as follows:

  1. Subject: Insert NTN into database – NTN number – Company name – Service sector category
  2. If you do not already have an NTN number, you must first go to the FBR website and register for one.
  3. After entering your NTN/CNIC, you will be asked to complete the registration form and provide information about your representative.
  4. AOP companies will also be required to provide information about their shareholders/directors.
  5. Following that, provide information about your company.
  6. Enter your bank account information now.
  7. Your application is now finished, and you may have it printed and submitted.

The PRA will process your application after you have submitted it together with all of your supporting documentation. Following acceptance, you will get a passcode and activation instructions through email and SMS. Finally, the PRA will assign you a PNTN, and your registration will be complete. SRB Registration

To register with SRB, please follow the steps outlined below:

  1. To register for the eSRB Portal, go to their website
  2. select “e-Registration”
  3. Select “New e-Registration.”
  4. Please insert your NTN here.
  5. The system will automatically display your registration information as it appears in FBR.
  6. Enter the image character and click OK.
  7. A registration form will be shown.
  8. Your information from FBR will be pre-populated in the form.
  9. The first section of the form is titled “Registry.”
  10. Please fill out this field with your registration information.
  11. Enter the specifics of your representation.
  12. Save your information and proceed to the next section to finish the form.
  13. Please include information about the directors and shareholders.
  14. Please include details if you have any other activities than principal.
  15. If you operate from more than one place via Businesses/Branches or outlets, please provide information on all of them.
  16. Include your bank account.
  17. Declare formally that the information provided is correct and full.
  18. This is an official part that displays the USER ID assigned to you by the Tax Office.
  19. Please save your form.
  20. You can make modifications if necessary, but you must save after each change.
  21. After finishing your form, click “Verify Application.”
  22. A confirmation box will appear.
  23. To verify your application, enter the relevant details (CNIC/NTN/PP).
  24. Following verification, click “Submit Application.”
  25. Following successful submission, you will be assigned a USER ID and PASSWORD via email/SMS.
  26. Please e-enroll to activate your account and take use of all SRB services.

KPRA Registration

Follow the steps mentioned below in order to complete your registration with KPRA.

  1. To register for the KPRA Portal, kindly visit their official website.
  2. Select “e-Registration” and then select “New e-Registration with NTN.”
  3.  Input Your NTN (If You Already Have NTN)
  4. The system will automatically display your registration information as it appears in FBR.
  5. Enter the image character and click OK.
  6. A Taxpayer registration form will be shown with pre-filled information from your FBR record.
  7. The first section of the form is titled “Registry.” You have to fill out this field with your registration information.
  8. Enter the specifics of your representation then save your information and proceed to the next section to finish the form.
  9. In the next part of the form please submit information about the directors and shareholders. Furthermore, please include details if you have any other activities than principal.
  10. Please provide information on all outlets. If you operate from multiple locations via Businesses/Branches.
  11. Enter your bank account information.
  12. Declaration of Independence.
  13. Formally state that the information provided is correct and full.
  14. This is an official part that displays the USER ID assigned to you by the Tax Office.
  15. Save the form. You can make adjustments if necessary, but you must save it again after each change.
  16.  When you have finished filling out your form, click “Verify Application”. A confirmation box will appear.
  17. Enter the necessary information (CNIC/NTN/PP) to validate your application and send in your application
  18. After verifying your information, click “Submit Application”. Following successful submission, you will be assigned an Activation Code and Passcode through email/SMS
  19. Please e-enroll to activate your account and take advantage of all services offered by KPRA’s website.

BRA Registration 

Balochistan Revenue Authority is responsible for collecting and managing the taxes on various services in the province. The taxes are applied to both a firm or an individual.

  1. To begin, go to the BRA website’s ‘Taxpayer Facilitation Portal,’ then click “e-services” and then “e-registration.” If you already have an NTN, enter your NTN, CNIC, and name, then click “Ok.”
  2. After you submit your information, you will be directed to a form with pre-filled information stored with FBR.
  3. If you do not already have an NTN, you must first register one on the FBR website.
  4. Following the entry of the NTN/CNIC, the registration form will be presented. AOP firms will also be required to give information on their directors and shareholders.
  5. Now, add information about your company.
  6. Then enter your bank account information.
  7. Your application will be finished and ready to print and submit.

Your application will be processed by BRA once you have provided all required papers. If you are accepted, you will be notified via email and SMS with the passcode and activation details. Your registration is complete once you receive the BNTN.
